Burgh-Haamstede, Netherlands – Interior Design by Studio at No. 11
Life in Zeeland is closely connected to water. It is blessed with some of the most beautiful coastlines in the Netherlands thanks to the land reclaimed from the sea over the centuries. No wonder then that my Rotterdam city living clients chose the charming coastal town of Burgh-Haamstede to build a home from home.
The clients had already started the baseline for the build when we met. Floor, kitchen and lighting were the first elements we reviewed. We started with designs for the bathrooms, and stepped qui ckly into overseeing the overall design narrative.
The interior advice included colour scheme, fixtures and finishes, joinery and soft furnishings, as well as consulting on the lighting scheme, kitchen and floor.
Warm woods and rich travertine have been used to balance with the concrete floor and glass facade. We chose a warm neutral colour palette, with hints of muddy green. We finished with flowing linen curtains and a few key accessories to complement, in materials such as paper and ceramics.
A calming open space with clean lines, perfect for spend weekends and holidays away from the bustling city.
